On Tuesday, April 28, 2025, an earthquake disaster simulation was conducted at SD Cilandak Barat 01. The activity was carried out in a participatory manner, involving both teachers and students.
The simulation began with the sound of an emergency siren signaling the occurrence of an earthquake. In response, all students and teachers followed the standard safety procedures by taking cover under their desks.
After a few minutes, students were directed to evacuate to the designated assembly point on the school field, protecting their heads with their bags during the evacuation. Once gathered on the field, teachers performed a headcount to ensure all students were safe and checked each classroom to confirm that no one was left behind. Teachers also practiced emergency response measures for handling injured students during such incidents.
This simulation was supported by the JGC Indonesia Evacuation Team, who provided guidance on proper evacuation and safety procedures during disasters.
Through this earthquake simulation, it is hoped that both students and teachers gain a better understanding of the necessary actions to protect themselves and others during an actual earthquake. Furthermore, the activity aims to help the school community become more prepared, composed, and responsive in the face of a real earthquake emergency.
