Jakarta, Indonesia – 28 August 2025 – PT. JGC Indonesia has been officially awarded two major Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) packages for the Abadi LNG Project in the Masela Block, Indonesia which operated by INPEX Masela, Ltd., a subsidiary of INPEX Corporation. On 1 August  2025, the company, in consortium, secured the FEED package for the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, followed by the award of the Onshore LNG (OLNG) Plant FEED package on 4 August 2025.

To mark this milestone, the FEED Commencement Ceremony was held on 28 August 2025, symbolizing the official launch of this strategic national project.

Under a dual FEED scheme, PT. JGC Indonesia will act as the lead contractor in consortium with PT. Technip Engineering Indonesia to carry out the OLNG FEED package. This milestone marks completion of the awarding of all four FEED packages : the FPSO and the OLNG Project, that relate to the Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF), and the Gas Export Pipeline (GEP).

Ceremony Highlights

The commencement ceremony was opened by Mr. Takayuki Ueda, President & CEO of INPEX Corporation, followed by Mr. Djoko Siswanto, Chairman of SKK Migas, and concluded with a keynote speech from Mr. Ir. Yuliot, Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia. The event concluded with a symbolic project launching procession.

Commitment to Indonesia’s Energy Future

The Abadi LNG Project focuses on delivering 9.5 million tons of LNG per year that make up more than 10% of Japan’ annual LNG imports while ensuring an ongoing supply of natural gas to the domestic market. Overall, the project is anticipated to deliver 10.5 million tons of natural gas per year (LNG equivalent) as well as up to 35,000 barrels of condensate per day. Importantly, the FEED scope also includes a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) program which contributes to Indonesia's net zero CO₂ emissions by 2060.
