Semarang, September 15, 2025 – PT JGC Indonesia (JIND) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting education through its CSR initiative, “JIND Mengajar.” As part of this program, JIND held a public lecture at the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (Undip), under the theme “An EPC Contractor Insights.” The event took place at the Engineering Hall, Prof. Ir. Eko Budihardjo, M.Sc. Building, 5th Floor, and was attended by hundreds of students from various engineering departments.

As a Japan-based EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company that has long operated in Indonesia, JGC Indonesia aims to share industry knowledge and real-world experience with students. Through this lecture, JIND seeks to broaden understanding of the EPC industry and highlight the career opportunities available in this field.

“We would like to share what we do, what we are working on, and what we expect from the academic world, while at the same time receiving feedback and input from universities about their expectations of us,” said Wahyu Himawan, Director of PT JGC Indonesia, in his opening remarks.
The speakers included Wahyu Himawan (Director, PT JGC Indonesia), Haryo Setyo Nusantoro (QHSE Manager), and Nurrakhman Yuliantoro (Engineer). They shared insights on the role of EPC contractors in the energy industry and the skills required to succeed in this dynamic sector.
Wahyu Himawan further emphasized the importance of building strong connections between industry and academia. “We want to be closer to the campus and to the students, because our only true asset is manpower. What we need are capable and dedicated human resources, and one of the key sources is universities, including Undip,” he explained.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamari, S.T., M.T., IPU., ASEAN Eng., expressed his appreciation for JIND’s efforts, noting that EPC is a highly relevant and attractive field for engineering students, and that JGC Indonesia is a leading company with extensive experience in the industry.
Through the “JIND Mengajar” program, PT JGC Indonesia is committed to making a positive contribution to education in Indonesia and to bridging the gap between academia and industry.
